    About Us

We are a Public Utilities Commission licensed trucking company (State of Hawaii PUC 4018-C, DOT #1984488) offering the services of freight distribution (dry, chill, and frozen commodities), trucking/hauling, forklift services, moving logistical services both at the commercial and residential level, and an authorized Aloha Container Sales and Rental agent for the island of Molokai. We also offer public mini-storage and warehousing for private household goods and general commodities. In respect to freight forwarding, we are an authorized agent for DHX, Inc. (Dependable Hawaiian Express, Inc.) and ABF Freight. We have worked closely with hundreds of other freight forwarders nationwide as well. The primary purpose of Makoa Trucking Services is to serve the gap between the island barge and airline services and the dependable transportation of goods and commodities throughout the island. We pride ourselves on providing red carpet service to the customers and visitors of the island. Planners, landowners, natural resource managers and community members are putting their heads together to protect one of Molokai’s most important resources water. Many have noticed deterioration of native forests in recent years, especially on the east end, because of invasive species, and they say something needs to be done. Molokai’s rainforests are key watershed areas, or land that collects rain and acts as the island’s water source. The forest is [receding] because of its unkempt state, said Opu`ulani Albino, a cultural representative of the Aha Kiole, a tradition, community-based resource management group on Molokai. I’m grateful that someone has come forth with a plan to preserve it. That draft management plan, called the East Slope Watershed Project, was presented to Mana`e residents last week.
